FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of an alloy of ferrosilicon with vanadium and/or niobium, which is used as an alloying additive in production of cast iron. Method includes providing initial ferrosilicon alloy containing Si, C, Al, Ca, Ti, Mn, Cr, Zr, Ba, P, S, Fe, adding to the initial alloy of casting additives in the form of Mo, Cu, Ni, Mg, La and/or Ce and/or mischmetal, Sr, Bi, Sb, and raw material containing vanadium oxide and/or niobium oxide, melting of charge with formation of melt of alloy, which contains, wt.%: 15–80 Si; 5–35 V and/or Nb; up to 10 Mo; up to 5 Cr; up to 3 Cu; up to 3 Ni; up to 20 Mg; 0.01–7 Al; up to 13 Ba; 0.01–7 Ca; up to 13 Mn; up to 8 Zr; up to 12 La, and/or Ce, and/or mischmetal; up to 5 Sr; up to 3 Bi; up to 3 Sb; up to 1.5 Ti; the rest is Fe and incidental impurities.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to create alloy for cast iron alloying, to reduce alloy density and time of its dissolution in cast iron melt, as well as to obtain an alloy with a lower melting point to facilitate its addition at later stages of the process.
