FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical industry and can be used in producing luminescent pigments of paints and coatings, catalysts for chemical reactions, as well as luminophores used as a base for scintillators for detecting ionizing radiation. First, mixed are powders of a group II metal oxide and a molybdenum-containing compound, which is an electroexplosive nano-sized powder of molybdenum, which provides for self-propagating high-temperature synthesis when the said nanopowder is heated to a temperature of its oxidation beginning equal to 441 °C. Obtained mixture is heated in a high-temperature furnace, held at temperature of 800 °C for 1 hour, and after holding, cooled to room temperature.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain group II metal molybdate powder throughout the volume of the prepared mixture and reduce the holding time; content of group II metal molybdate in the synthesis product is not less than 95 wt.%.
