FIELD: chemistry; oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to oil, gas, petrochemical industry and can be used for detection of organochlorine compounds (OC) in oil, water-oil mixtures, emulsions, associated extracted water in order to exclude the risk of OC entering in commercial oil or other products. Method of detecting OC involves preliminary mixing of the analysed substance with water in a volume ratio of 1:4, separation of the lower aqueous part of the mixture and mixing it with a hydrocarbon aliphatic solvent in ratio of 2:1 for extraction of OC. Further, the upper hydrocarbon part is separated, which is then mixed with pyridine and 10% solution of alkali in volume ratio of 4:2:1. Obtained mixture is heated to 50-100 °C and the presence of OC is recorded in it by changing the colour of the middle layer from colourless to pink or red depending on their concentration in the mixture.
EFFECT: providing an express method of detecting OC in oil, water-oil mixture, oil emulsion, associated produced water with possibility of implementation in field conditions.
