For an accurate assessment of the amount of heat supplied to the cast iron in the blast furnace, with a significant change in the intensity of the process, an assessment step is carried out, at which the change in physical heat carried away by the gas passing inside the furnace is evaluated, and the change in the introduced physical heat, which is introduced by the source material heated by said gas passing inside the furnace, and the amount of heat supplied to the cast iron in the blast furnace is estimated, taking into account the said estimated changes in the carried away physical heat and the introduced physical heat. At that, the evaluation stage comprises a stage, at which the said carried away physical heat is evaluated taking into account the amount of heat released to the outside from the blast furnace during settling, and estimating the change in said introduced physical heat taking into account the change in the height of the surface of the initial material at said draft, and a step of estimating the amount of heat retained in the residual coke present in the blast furnace, and estimating said amount of heat supplied to the cast iron in the blast furnace, taking into account said estimated amount of heat retained in the residual coke.
