FIELD: chemistry; pharmaceutics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of extracting lipopolysaccharides from dry cells of gram-negative bacteria. Proposed method involves extraction of dry bacterial cells Shigella sonnei, which is carried out with an extraction mixture prepared from equal volumes of water and n-butanol, followed by addition of n-propanol to homogenisation, for 16–18 hours while heating to temperature of 37–60 °C and stirring, then the extract is separated, diafiltered against water and lyophilized.
EFFECT: invention provides high output of lipopolysaccharides and reduced contamination of lipopolysaccharides with proteins and nucleic acids (reduced content of proteins and nucleic acids).
