SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the tobacco industry, specifically to an aerosol-generating article for producing an inhaled aerosol when heated. Aerosol-generating article for producing an inhaled aerosol passes from the mouth end to a distal end located upstream of the mouth end. Article comprises aerosol-generating substrate rod. Article includes a downstream section at a location downstream of the aerosol-generating substrate rod. Downstream section comprises a mouthpiece located downstream of the rod and in longitudinal alignment with the rod, wherein said mouthpiece extends over the entire distance to the mouthpiece end of the aerosol-generating article. Article comprises an upstream section located upstream of the aerosol-generating substrate rod, wherein the upstream section comprises an upstream element comprising a segment of filter material and extending through the entire distance to the far end of the article. Diameter of the aerosol-generating article at the mouth end exceeds the diameter of the aerosol-generating article at the far end. Ratio between the diameter of the aerosol-generating article at the mouth end and the diameter of the aerosol-generating article at the far end is at least 1.005. Aerosol-generating article comprises a first strip of tipping paper at least partially surrounding the mouthpiece and attaching the mouthpiece to the directly adjacent upstream component of the aerosol-generating article and a second strip of tipping paper surrounding the first strip of tipping paper.

EFFECT: higher efficiency of aerosol-generating article when being used.
