SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the tobacco industry, namely to an article for generating an aerosol for producing an inhaled aerosol when heated. Article for generating an aerosol for producing an inhaled aerosol when heated comprises a rod of an aerosol-generating substrate, a mouthpiece having a length L1 and comprising at least one filtering segment of the mouthpiece of fibrous filter material, and an intermediate hollow section between the aerosol-generating substrate rod and the mouthpiece element. Intermediate hollow section has a length L2 and contains an aerosol cooling element located downstream of the rod of the aerosol-generating substrate. Aerosol cooling element comprises a hollow tubular segment forming a longitudinal cavity defining a flow-free channel. Length of the aerosol cooling element is less than 10 millimetres. Aerosol cooling element further comprises a ventilation zone in a position along the hollow tubular segment. Intermediate hollow section comprises a support element between the aerosol cooling element and the aerosol-generating substrate rod. Upstream end of the aerosol cooling element adjoins the downstream end of the support element. Length L1 of the mouthpiece is at least 0.4 of the length L2 of the intermediate hollow section.

EFFECT: consists in improvement of efficiency of aerosol cooling generated during heating.
