SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing (E)-5-amino-3-hydrazono-4-hydroxy-1-(2-hydroxyphenyl)-6a-(1H-indol-3-yl)-4-phenylhexahydropyrrolo[3,4-b]pyrrole-2,6-dione of formula II. Method is carried out by holding at 85 °C 3-benzoyl-2-hydroxy-3a-(1H-indol-3-yl)-1H-pyrrolo[2,1-c][1,4]benzoxazine-1,4(3aH)-dione I with hydrazine in molar ratio of 1:2 according to the scheme given below.

EFFECT: method of producing (E)-5-amino-3-hydrazono-4-hydroxy-1-(2-hydroxyphenyl)-6a-(1H-indol-3-yl)-4-phenylhexahydropyrrolo[3,4-b]pyrrole-2,6-dione of formula II, having anti-tuberculosis activity.
