SUBSTANCE: intended for the production of new individual compounds of the 4-aroyl-1-(2-hydroxyaryl)-5-(1H-indol-3-yl)-1,3-dihydro-2H-pyrrole-2, 3-diones class. A method is presented for the preparation of 4-aroyl-1-(2-hydroxyaryl)-5-(1 H -indol-3-yl)-1,3-dihydro-2 H -pyrrole-2,3-diones of formula IIa-d by oxidation with oxygen air 3-aroyl-2-hydroxy-3a-(1H- indol-3-yl)-1H-pyrrolo[2,1-c][1,4]benzoxazine-1,4(3aH)-diones Ia-d, where I and II: Ar = Ph, R = H (a); Ar = C6H4F-4, R = H (b); Ar = C6H4Cl-4, R = H (c); Ar = C6H4Br-4, R = H (g); Ar = C6H4CH3-4, R = H (d), carried out by keeping the reagents at room temperature in acetone according to the indicated scheme.

EFFECT: providing the production of 4-aroyl-1-(2-hydroxyaryl)-5-(1H-indol-3-yl)-1,3-dihydro-2H-pyrrole-2,3-diones with antimicrobial activity.
