SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, particularly to cardiology. Membrane potential of blood leukocytes is assessed in patients with myocardial infarction on the first day from the onset of the disease and calculating the number of cells (%) with altered membrane potential of mitochondria (R-) of blood leukocytes, showing the degree of reduction of the mitochondrial adaptation resource in ischemia in connection with the development of a cardiovascular accident. Calculation is carried out using the original formula. And at value R- (number of leukocytes with changed membrane potential) ≥ 65%, the presence of LV myocardial dysfunction is diagnosed.

EFFECT: invention enables to establish the presence of myocardial dysfunction on the first day of myocardial infarction, its degree depending on the number of blood leukocytes with altered membrane potential and to predict the development of chronic heart failure in the outcome of myocardial infarction individually in each patient.
