SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to an optical structure with a relief effect, a security element comprising such an optical structure, a security document comprising such an optical structure, method of making such an optical structure and a method of authenticating a security document with such an optical structure. Optical structure (5) comprises carrier (7) configured to align liquid crystals, coating (9) in contact with the carrier of the substance in form of at least one pattern (11) partially covering the carrier, and layer (13) of liquid crystals, at least partially covering the carrier and said pattern in contact with the carrier.
EFFECT: disclosed is an optical structure with a relief effect, a security element having an optical structure, a security document having an optical structure, a method of making the optical structure, a method of authenticating a secure document.
