FIELD: plasma equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to plasma engineering, arc generators of plasma with a cold cathode and controlled thermonuclear fusion and is used to produce plasma. Arc plasma generator consists of a hollow cathode, an anode, a set of diaphragms and insulators, a magnetic coil, a hollow cathode holder flange, an anode holder flange, gas valves and water cooling channels. In the design of the device on the cathode insulator there is a protrusion that goes deep into the hollow cathode. Also, this projection on the outer side forms a gap with the surface of the hollow cathode, and the inner part of the projection forms a gap with a heat-resistant insert of the insulator. Heat-resistant insert of insulator is made from refractory material, for example from graphite or tungsten.
EFFECT: considerable reduction of erosion of the cathode and cathode elements of the structure, which will make it possible to increase the service life of the arc plasma generator by several times without considerable complication of the initial structure.
