FIELD: testing of machine parts.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building, in particular to methods of diagnosing the state of gear wheels, and can be used to assess the quality of gearing in mechanical transmissions. Drive gear wheel is turned clockwise or counterclockwise to the stop, a pointer indicator is fixed on its output shaft, a graduated sector – a protractor is installed on the fixed housing of the device, drive gear wheel is turned to the stop in the opposite direction, the indicator pointer deflection angle is recorded and by formula ΔH = tg α ⋅ R, where R is the drive gear pitch circle radius, tg α is tangent of the angle of deviation of the indicator needle when turning the drive wheel, define ΔH is the linear value of the gap between the teeth of the gear wheels along the line of their engagement, and the nature of the wheel wear is determined from the value of the angle of its rotation by comparing the obtained data with reference data.
EFFECT: simplified diagnostics of gear wheel wear.
