FIELD: diagnostic equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to diagnostic equipment; it can be used for diagnostics of defects of gears of a gearbox for different types of machines having sensors of a rotational frequency of input and output shafts of a gear transmission. The method consists in that signals of rotation of output and input shafts of the diagnosable transmission are read, and a size of a defect is determined by the difference of dispersions of the current frequency of narrow-band processes of their rotational frequencies. Moreover, the presence of the defect is determined as a result of subtraction of the difference of dispersions of current frequencies of narrow-band processes of rotational frequencies of output and input shafts, obtained from tachometric sensors of their rotation, included in the engine, and the obtained result of premeasurement of the difference of dispersions before operation of the gearbox, and this difference is compared with a reference value.
EFFECT: increase in sensitivity and accuracy of diagnostics of defects of gears of gear wheels of a gearbox.
