Abstract RU 2833848 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates, in general, to medical devices for fluid transfusion, in particular to devices and a method for fluid transfusion into or from a patient through an installed peripheral intravenous catheter. Device for transfusion of fluid into or out of patient by means of installed peripheral intravenous catheter comprises catheter, guide and drive element. Catheter has a proximal end portion and a distal end portion. Guidewire is configured to receive the catheter. Conductor has an outer surface forming a plurality of ribs. Distal end portion of the conductor is connected to a permanent peripheral intravenous line. Drive element is connected to the catheter and passes through the slot formed by the guide, so that a portion of the drive element is in contact with at least one rib of the plurality of ribs. Drive member is movable relative to the guide wire to move the catheter between a first position in which the catheter is located in the guide wire, and a second position in which the distal end portion of the catheter is located behind at least a portion of the permanent peripheral intravenous line when the guide wire is connected to the permanent peripheral intravenous line. Drive member portion is movable along at least a portion of the ribs of the plurality of ribs when the drive member moves the catheter between a first position and a second position, wherein the portion of the drive member and at least a portion of the ribs of the plurality of ribs provide a tactile output signal for the user indicating the position of the catheter. According to a second version of the liquid transfusion device, the guide wire comprises a proximal end portion of the guide wire, a distal end portion of the guide wire and an outer surface having a plurality of ribs extending at least partially between the proximal end portion of the guide wire and the distal end portion of the guide wire. Plurality of ribs comprise a first rib portion having ribs with a first set of characteristics, and a second rib portion having ribs with a second set of characteristics different from the first set of characteristics, wherein the position of the first portion of the ribs is proximal to the second portion of the ribs. Movement of a portion of the drive element along a plurality of ribs vibrates along at least a portion of the catheter to facilitate movement of the catheter past the obstacle when the catheter is moved into a second position. Method of transfusing fluid into or from a patient by means of an inserted peripheral intravenous catheter comprises connecting a conductor of a fluid transfusion device to a permanent peripheral intravenous line; activating movement of the drive member relative to the guidewire to advance the catheter from a first position to a second position; providing an indication associated with the position of the catheter when the drive element moves relative to the guide; and the end of movement of the drive member when the indication indicates that the catheter is in the second position. Fluid transfusion device comprises a catheter displaceable in the guide wire, and a drive element connected to the catheter and passing through a slot formed by the guide wire, so that a portion of the drive element is in contact with a plurality of ribs formed along the outer surface of the guide wire. Catheter is located in the guide wire when in the first position. Indication is a tactile output signal generated by a portion of the drive element moved along a plurality of ribs. Distal end portion of the catheter is located behind at least a portion of the permanent peripheral intravenous line when the catheter is in the second position.

EFFECT: disclosed are devices and a method for transfusing fluids through an installed peripheral intravenous catheter.
