DEVICE FOR TRANSFUSING FLUIDS THROUGH AN INSTALLED PERIPHERAL INTRAVENOUS CATHETER Russian patent published in 2021 - IPC A61M5/00 A61M5/32 A61M25/00 A61M25/01

Abstract RU 2745674 C2

FIELD: medical technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of medical technology, namely, to a device for transfusing fluid into or out of a patient by means of an established peripheral intravenous line. The invention relates to the field of medical technology, namely, to a device for transfusing fluid into or out of a patient by means of an established peripheral intravenous line. This device contains a catheter, a guide, and a drive member. The catheter has a proximal end section and a distal end section and forms a clearance extending through the proximal end section and the distal end section. The conductor has a proximal end section and a distal end section. The conductor forms an internal volume having a first section and a second section. The internal volume has a sinuous cross-sectional shape relative to a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the conductor, so that the axis defined by the first section of the internal volume is parallel and offset from the axis defined by the second section of the internal volume in the transverse direction along the plane. The second section of the internal volume is designed to accommodate the possibility of moving the catheter. The distal terminal portion of the conductor is designed to be connected to the peripheral intravenous line. The drive member has a first section passing through the first section of the internal volume, and a second section located in the second section of the internal volume. The second section of the drive member is connected to the catheter. The drive member is designed to move relative to the conductor so as to move the catheter between the first position and the second position, with the catheter positioned inside the conductor when in the first position. The distal end section of the catheter is located behind the distal end section of the guide so that at least the catheter section is located inside the peripheral intravenous line when the catheter is in the second position and the guide is attached to the peripheral intravenous line.

EFFECT: invention provides phlebotomy by means of a peripheral intravenous catheter.
