SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to robotics and can be used in servicing railway rolling stock for draining and filling tanks. Method includes placing a robotic system for draining and filling tanks near the tracks of the serviced unit of the train within the working space of the robot of said complex, determining the location of the serviced unit of the train, sending a signal on the beginning of operation, determining the location of the tank neck using the technical vision module, opening with the help of the manipulator neck of the corresponding reservoir, performance of draining or filling of the tank, closing with the help of the manipulator the neck of the tank, supply of signal on completion of work. At that, a robotic complex is used, equipped with a set of replaceable nozzles of a manipulator in the form of tools for cleaning/washing and interaction with a drain and/or filling units, and opening and closing of tank neck is carried out using appropriate nozzle, wherein prior to opening appropriate tank neck, said tank is cleaned using cleaning/washing manipulator nozzle.
EFFECT: use of the invention allows extending the technological capabilities of the complex and improving the quality of service.
