FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to connection of various materials, namely to means for fixing elements of electronics or metal-containing structures. Self-heating foil contains alternating main and auxiliary layers made of materials providing reaction of self-propagating high-temperature synthesis (SHS). Thickness of the main layer is 10–200 nm, and the thickness of the auxiliary layer is 3–100 nm. Ratio of thickness of auxiliary layers and main layers ranges from 1:2 to 1:100, wherein auxiliary layer is located every 50–100 main layers. Main and auxiliary layers are made from materials selected from the group: nickel, aluminium, copper, titanium, silicon, zirconium, silver, vanadium, molybdenum, indium, iron and oxides of the listed metals.
EFFECT: higher ductility of foil due to high resistance to formation of cracks during SHS-reaction, which enables to obtain strong connection of any materials with preservation of their functional properties when using various solders.
