FIELD: water treatment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of purifying drinking water. According to the method, drinking water is filtered on modified dolomitized calcite with constant monitoring of water quality at the filter outlet. For filtration, dolomitized calcite modified with fraction of 1.0 to 1.5 mm is used in a mixture with quartz sand with content of 28-32% with respect to quartz sand. Fraction of modified dolomitized calcite of not more than 1.0 mm is 20-25% of its total amount. Before filtration, coagulation is carried out with aluminium polyoxychloride in dose of 0.5-0.8 g/l.
EFFECT: preservation of the filtering load for a period of not less than 12 months by reducing the fractional composition of the load while ensuring the pH of the water at the outlet at level of 8 by increasing the surface of contact of the water with the load, which reduces corrosive activity with stable quality of water in terms of "total iron" and aluminium, thereby providing prolonged improvement of the state of engineering communications of drinking water transportation systems.
