FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, particularly to clinical otorhinolaryngology and audiology-otorhinolaryngology. Patient for whom surgical treatment of chronic rhinosinusitis is indicated undergoes broadband tympanometry at the following stages of treatment: before the surgical treatment, 5-7 days after the surgical treatment, one month after the surgical treatment. Effect of the surgical intervention on the functional state of the structures of the middle ear is assessed. At that, an increase in the absorption coefficient at frequencies of 0.5 kHz by 15% and more, and by 1 kHz, 2 kHz and 4 kHz by 40% or more during broadband tympanometry one month after the operation, testifies to restoration of functions of middle ear after surgical treatment. Increase in the absorption coefficient at frequencies of 0.5 kHz is less than 15%, and at 1 kHz, 2 kHz and 4 kHz is less than 40% when conducting broadband tympanometry a month after the operation, testifies to the ineffectiveness of the effect of the performed surgical treatment on the state of the functions of the middle ear.
EFFECT: method enables to objectively assess the state of the middle ear structures in the patients with chronic rhinosinusitis in the pre- and postoperative period.
