FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely geriatrics, and can be used for diagnosing senile asthenia in patients aged 61 to 100 years. Patient’s age, type 2 diabetes mellitus and acute cerebral circulation disorder are determined. Simpsons ejection fraction is determined on the basis of echocardiography performed not earlier than 6 months before determination of senile asthenia index (ISA). A general blood test is carried out and thrombocyte concentration is determined, after which ISA is calculated by the original formula. If the value is in range of 0-0.20, the absence of senile asthenia is diagnosed, if value is 0.21-0.40, moderate senile asthenia is diagnosed, and if value is 0.41 and more, severe senile asthenia is diagnosed.

EFFECT: method enables diagnosing senile asthenia by determining the value of ISA.
