FIELD: nanotechnology.

SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a method of producing luminescent carbon nanoparticles, which consists in dispersion of initial carbon material in form of multi-wall nanotubes in water and subsequent laser fragmentation of the initial material with laser radiation with wavelength of 1064 nm, pulses with duration of 100 ns, pulse frequency of 20 kHz, with energy in pulse of 1 mJ and energy density in beam of 160 J/cm2.

EFFECT: invention enables to obtain luminescent carbon nanoparticles with a fixed emission spectrum.
