By means of the method, preliminary reduction is carried out using a device for preliminary reduction and deep reduction using a device for deep reduction, in the preliminary reduction device, a reduction reaction is completed by stages Fe2O3→Fe3O4→FexO, which is prone to flow during reduction of iron oxide into metallic iron. Product of preliminary reduction, which has reached a certain degree of reduction, and the residual coal are loaded together into a deep reduction device for a deep reduction reaction at the FexO→Fe stage in the deep reduction device.

EFFECT: invention is aimed at achieving high efficiency of reducing iron oxide by controlling the degree of reduction at the stages of preliminary and deep reduction.
