SUBSTANCE: invention relates to navigation and specifically to methods of orienting a person on a terrain. Disclosed method of orienting a person on the terrain consists of the following stages: obtaining information about a person by means of fixed location video cameras, the location of which is known in advance, preliminary transmission to a remote server of biometric data of the person, assignment of a feature confirming the location of the person in the coordinates of the facility with the help of which the video recording of the person is performed to the results of video recording, transmitting data containing video recording results and a feature confirming coordinates to a remote server, recognizing the obtained video recording results and identifying a person by comparing the video recording results and previously obtained biometric data. In the case of positive identification, information on the location of the person is transmitted to the user. In order to receive assistance in orientation on the terrain, a person sends a corresponding request using communication means.

EFFECT: higher accuracy of orienting a person on a terrain.
