SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of orientation of mobile objects on terrain. Method of wheeled vehicle orientation on terrain comprises acquisition of data by video surveillance devices, its recognition and determination of vehicle location. Information on vehicle is received by means of video cameras, location of which is known in advance, fixed on area and connected to remote server. Additionally, data of the vehicle requiring orientation assistance are preliminary transmitted to the remote server. Further, the video recording results are assigned a feature which confirms the location of the vehicle and data containing the video recording results and the feature which confirms coordinates are transmitted to a remote server. Obtained video recording results are recognized and the vehicle is identified. In case of positive identification, information on vehicle location is sent to user.
EFFECT: high accuracy of orienting a wheeled vehicle on a terrain in the presence of interference which hinder operation of satellite navigation systems and when there are risks of spoofing.
