FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to minimally invasive liver surgery, and can be used for assessing the effectiveness of X-ray endovascular embolisation of hepatic haemangiomas. Doppler ultrasonography of the artery feeding the tumour is performed and blood flow velocity is determined. After embolisation, Doppler ultrasonography of the artery feeding the tumour is repeated, and the arterial blood flow velocity is compared to the initial one. If the blood supply is reduced by 45% and more, arteriovascular embolisation in hepatic haemangiomas is considered to be effective.
EFFECT: method provides higher clinical effectiveness in patients with hepatic haemangiomas, to reduce the frequency of open resection operations and development of serious postoperative complications, to reduce length of stay in hospital and mortality due to data on effectiveness of X-ray endovascular embolisation of hepatic haemangiomas.
