FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of determining relative position of two objects without using satellite navigation. Disclosed method of determining relative position of objects is realized according to a three-step algorithm: rough determination of the direction of location of the second object relative to the first one using the ultrasonic orientation method, after which the accuracy of the direction of location of the second object relative to the first object is corrected using a point laser emitter and a panel of light-emitting diodes, followed by measuring distance between objects using a laser range finder, after which, based on the distance between the objects and the turning angle of the set of equipment for ultrasonic positioning and laser ranging, coordinates of the second object on the virtual map are calculated in the form of a two-dimensional coordinate system.
EFFECT: automated determination of the location of an object.
