FIELD: mechanical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of seals, in particular to assemblies and auxiliary devices of seals, and is intended for cleaning of end seals ensuring sealing of end sections of shafts of booster pump units, pumping oil and oil products. Claimed end seal steaming system is a set of equipment, which is installed at the pump unit manufacturing plant, and contains a union installed in the pump unit end seal housing, external source of steam, providing generation and supply of hot steam to working surfaces of end seal, pipeline providing connection of external source of steam with nozzle installed in housing of end seal, threaded fittings providing detachable connection of pipeline and said union, ball valve providing control of hot steam flow in pipeline, wherein said system comprises two extra unions fitted in pump sleeve to be connected to external steam source via appropriate pipelines. Besides, system can contain additional ball valve made with possibility of union-nipple connection to pipelines providing connection of external steam source with unions installed in sleeve of pump unit. Ball valves providing control of hot steam flow are installed to prevent leakage of oil (oil products) from the end seal chamber at the moment when the steaming system does not function. Thus, the proposed end seal steaming system provides steam supply with temperature from 110 to 120 °C and pressure from 0.15 to 0.2 MPa for 15 minutes to inner working surfaces of end seal, during operation in which accumulations of paraffin deposits are formed, for their removal and cleaning the inner cavity of the end seal as a whole, excluding the works on dismantling the electric motor of the pump unit, dismantling the end seal from the pump unit and reassembling the listed equipment.

EFFECT: reduced duration and labour intensity of process of cleaning internal working surfaces of end seal of booster pump unit from paraffin deposits.
