FIELD: metal forming.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal forming and may be used in metallurgy and machine building in production of forged pieces from ingots. Ingot heating and forging operations are alternated for transitions with the ingot dendrite branches deviation. Deviation is provided in the direction of maximum working stresses in the part made from the forged piece. Ingot is forged with total relative deformation in range of 0.5 ≤ ε < 1. Value of the total relative deformation is calculated by the given mathematical formula.

EFFECT: as a result, an optimum level of physical and mechanical properties is provided in the forged piece.
