FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a biopolymer composition for food packaging material, consisting of a polyelectrolyte complex formed by gelatine, dissolved in water and chitosan, dissolved in 0.5 M acetic acid solution, titrated with sodium hydroxide to form sodium acetate differing by the fact that for every 100 g of the polyelectrolyte complex one additionally introduces glycerine and ginger essential oil so that the following ratio of components is provided, g/100g: gelatine 2.86-3.53; chitosan 0.12-0.29; glycerine 0.95-1.10; ginger essential oil 0.16-0.18; sodium acetate 0.47-1.14; acetic acid 0.023-0.056; water – balance.
EFFECT: present invention provides improved plastic physical and mechanical properties of the material.
