FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to surgical orthopaedics and X-ray diagnostics. It involves computed tomography of a bone fragment with an implant of a section thickness no more than 1 mm with selecting two sections in an axial projection on which the implant is visualized completely. X-ray bone density is measured in Hounsfield units at five points around implant at 1–2 mm therefrom on area of 0.1 cm2 corresponding to 310 pixels in each point. Obtained values are summed, average value (M) and standard deviation (m) is calculated.

EFFECT: method is easy to use, reproducible, provides the objective assessment of bone density values surrounding the implant embedded therein by calculating the bone density in certain points around the implant at a certain distance therefrom.
