SUBSTANCE: invention relates to gearboxes. Automotive gearbox comprises a crankcase, a primary shaft with a gear rim coupled with a helical spur gear of the intermediate shaft drive with helical spur gears pressed on it, the latter are coupled with constant-engagement secondary shaft helical gear wheels mounted on needle roller bearings to vary gear ratios by means of inertial synchronizers. Cycle of intermittent engagement of each gear in automotive gearbox in form of number of revolutions of helical gear to return of conjugated teeth of gear to initial position is determined by ratio.
EFFECT: increased contact endurance of teeth and resource.
