FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical industry and can be used in production of catalysts and magnetic materials based on cobalt ferrite. Following components are homogenised: cobalt oxalate, iron, oxalic acid, water, with weight ratio of iron to oxalic acid (1:2) in the presence of cerium (III) carbonate taken in amount of 5.7–10.8 wt.%. Then granules are formed and calcined.
EFFECT: increased catalytic activity of the obtained cobalt ferrite in the decomposition of nitrogen oxide (I) at 250 °C and reducing the concentration of carbon (II) oxide, as well as increasing the specific surface area of cobalt ferrite.
