FIELD: ferrites; spinels and solid solutions.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the chemical industry for the production of catalysts and magnetic materials based on cobalt ferrite. The method for producing cobalt ferrite consists of homogenizing a mixture of cobalt oxalate components, metallic iron powder, oxalic acid and water, moulding granules and calcining them at a temperature of 300-400°C. Homogenization is carried out in the presence of potassium carbonate in an amount of 1-5 wt.% and zirconium dioxide in an amount of 6-10 wt.% by dispersion, followed by stirring and heating to 60-90°C.
EFFECT: increase in catalytic activity in the decomposition reaction of nitrogen oxide (I), as well as a decrease in the concentration of by-products NO and NO2.
