FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT). Computer-implemented method of selecting a raster profile for scanning a proton beam on a target comprises steps of selecting a raster profile from a plurality of possible raster profiles based on the value of the quality indicator. Beam is directed over the surface of the target to form a pattern which is repeated one or more times in different radial orientations to form a scanning profile. Temperature of the target is tracked when scanning the beam on the surface of the target according to the scanning profile.
EFFECT: scanning parameters are variable in order to avoid damage to the target, increase thermal efficiency and optimize the particle concentration load.
