FIELD: optics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of forming a photon jet using a lens with refraction index higher than 2. Method comprises making a mesoscale low-absorbing homogeneous dielectric particle in the form of a sphere or a straight circular cylinder with a diameter comparable to the wavelength of the incident radiation, irradiating a dielectric particle with optical radiation with a formed flat front and forming a photonic jet on the shadow surface of the dielectric particle along the direction of propagation of the radiation. Said particle is made in the form of a sphere or a straight circular cylinder made of a material with a relative refraction index of more than 2, wherein the dielectric particle is coated with a layer of graphene and the chemical potential of the graphene is changed until the moment the photon jet is formed.

EFFECT: invention provides efficient control of parameters (intensity, dimensions of focal region) of photonic jet in real time and formation of photon jet by dielectric particles with refraction index higher than 2.
