HIGH-VOLTAGE PULSES FORMER Russian patent published in 1996 - IPC

FIELD: high-voltage pulse equipment, high-voltage pulses formers are used in generators and accelerators based on lines with distributed parameters. SUBSTANCE: aim is to increase former power and to shorten pulse duration. Former has generator 1, output closed-circuited line 2, output open-circuited line 3, loading 4, switches 8 and 10, transmitting line 9. Introduction of "n" homogeneous lines 5, inputs of which beginning from the second one are connected to output of transmitting line, allows generator 1 under preservation of pulse amplitude to decrease its duration to 1/8 and correspondingly to increase by 8 fold current and developed across load 4 power. EFFECT: increased power of former and decreased duration of pulse.. 2 dwg
