FIELD: production of superhard material. SUBSTANCE: method for production of polycrystalline superhard material includes placing between silicon layers of diamond powder preliminarily calcined or mixture of diamond powder with powder of diamond-containing polycrystalline material with particles sizing 10-500 mcm and ash content of 0.5-20 mas.%, and sintering at pressure and temperature in the region of stability of diamond lattice. Silicon is preliminarily mixed with carbonaceous material and organic binder based on resol and novolac resins taken in the amount of 10-40 and 0.4-5%, respectively, from silicon weight, and intermediate products are molded. Introduction of binder allows production of intermediate products by automatic presses, and product yield increase up to 92-96%. EFFECT: increased product yield and reduced manual labor. 1 tbl
