FIELD: seismic prospecting in water areas. SUBSTANCE: pneumatic source has body 1, guide 2, shut-off unit 3, cover 4, electric air-operated valve 5, bottom 6 with thrust rings to change volume of working chamber 27. Mentioned components form auxiliary space 11, controlling chamber 20, low-pressure chamber 21. With operation of electric air-operated valve 5 air is suddenly fed over initiation duct 28 under lower butt of shut-off unit 3 displacing it upwards. Acceleration continues up to moment of opening of windows 8 and separation of controlling chamber 20 and auxiliary space 11. Blowout of portion of compressed air is accompanied by generation of signal and after this shut-off unit returns into starting position. EFFECT: prolonged service life of source by reduced wear-out of mobile conjugate components. 3 dwg
