FIELD: petrochemical industry. SUBSTANCE: diesel fractions are prepared to hydrofining in the presence of a layer of an alumo-cobalt-molybdenum oxide catalyst having a granule diameter of 3.2-4.0 mm in admixture with elementary sulfur, then in the presence of sequentially arranged layers of an zeolite-containing oxide catalyst having a granule diameter of 2.0-3.0 mm and an alumo-nickel-molybdenum oxide catalyst in a 1: 1: (1.3-8) weight ratio. The catalyst layers are previously activated in a hydrogen-containing gas at 350-400 C. EFFECT: improved quality of the diesel fuel. 1 tbl
