FIELD: analytical biochemistry. SUBSTANCE: method involves the successive mixing of enzymic preparation on peroxidase-base, thiourea solution and analyzed specimen, and solutions of hydrogen peroxide and ortho-dianisidine also. Water soluble solid solution of peroxidase in chitosan is used as an enzymic preparation, and analyzed specimen is added 3-7 min after thiourea solution addition. Reading is begun at the moment of hydrogen peroxide addition, and time of red-brown color appearance in the cell with solution obtained is fixed. Mercury concentration at the range 10-3-10-5mkg/ml micro g/ml is determined by calibration plot. EFFECT: improved method of mercury assay.
