FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method involves introducing calibrated templet into solution between rollers of secondary cooling zone, determining gaps between templet and roller barrels, and shifting rollers in accordance with determination of gaps. To adjust rollers, pulses of surface ultrasonic waves are excited on surfaces of calibrated templet disposed at the side of rollers. A reflected signal from the point of contact of each roller with templet indicates existence or absence of gap between roller barrel and templet. Location of each roller on technological axis of plant is determined by the time of received reflected signal of ultrasonic wave. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 1 dwg
