SUBSTANCE: the product includes substituted acylaminobenzamides of the formula: wherein A and B are H, F, Cl, Br, C₁-C₄-alkyl, C₁-C₄-alkoxy, halo-(C₁-C₄)-alkyl provided that both are not H; D and E are H and F; R₁ is H, C₁-C₄-alkyl; R₂-C₁-C₄-alkyl, C₁-C₄-alkoxy, C₆H₅, or R₁ and R₂ are together with the nitrogen atom to which they are attached form a morpholino, piperidino, pyrrolidino or acetidino group optionally substituted with C₁-C₄-alkyl; R₃ is Cl₃C, C₂-C₈-alkyl optionally substituted with halogen, C₁-C₈-alkoxy and R₇; R₇ is C₁-C₄-alkyl, n is O, 1 or 2; cyclopropyl optionally substituted with halogen or C₁-C₄ alkyl; C₂-C₈-alkenyl, C₂-C₈-alkynyl; C₁-C₈-alkoxy, mono- or di-(C₁-C₄) alkyl amino group; R₈ON= C(CN); R₈-C₁-C₄-alkyl, or R₃ together with C(O)N form an azetidine -2-one ring optionally substituted with halogen or alkyl. Reaction conditions: in an organic solvent in the presence of a base followed by recovery of the desired product or treatment of I in which R₃-C₂-C₈ is alkyl substituted with halogen or, a base in a two-phase system in the presence of a phase transfer catalyst to recover I in which R₃ together with C(O)N form azetidin-2-one.
