FIELD: industry of refractory materials. SUBSTANCE: method involves preparation of charge from powders of magnesium oxide and aluminium nitride in a relation, wt.-%: magnesium oxide, 6.1-31.9; aluminium nitride, 68.1-93.9, milling, preparation of molding mass, forming of blanks, their drying and firing in oxygen-containing atmosphere until the weight of the blanks ceases to change. The material resulting after cooling is a reaction-sintered ceramic material of corundum-spinel composition whose yield is increased to 117-123%. This ceramic material has a fine-grained structure and compression strength of 560-640 MPa. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 1 tbl
