FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method involves mixing the powders of silicon, silicon carbide and aluminium nitride in relations of, wt.-%: aluminium nitride, 96.0-99.8; silicon, 0.1-2.7; silicon carbide, 0.1-3.9, their joint milling, formation of blanks and firing in oxygen-containing atmosphere until the weight of the blanks stops changing. The material produced after cooling is a reaction-baked corundum ceramic material. It has a fine-grained structure and a high mechanical strength while the method of its production is ecologically clean. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 1 tbl
