FIELD: procession of reinforced industrial rubber articles such as worn motor vehicle tyres with metal cord, conveyer belts and so on. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of treating an industrial-rubber article in gaseous medium, containing (0.01-10)% of ozone; subjecting the industrial-rubber article to mechanical action simultaneously with treatment of it in the gaseous medium; upon applying loads deforming the rubber at sustaining a deformation level of the article no less than 1%. Means for destructing the industrial-rubber article mounted in a working chamber, provided by a unit for feeding the gaseous medium into it in the form of a source of ozone-containing gas.
