FIELD: gamma radiation dosimetry. SUBSTANCE: invention is intended for search and location of position of point or distributed source of gamma radiation and for separation of measured intensity of radiation into background component and component related to gamma radiation of source. Device has two identical scintillation detectors with counting registration efficiencies balanced in advance separated by protective screen in the form of parallelepiped which ensures effective absorption of gamma radiation within chosen energy range which shape and dimensions as well as distance between detectors are chosen on the basis of directivity pattern of registration of device. Device is equipped with meter of difference of counting rates of scintillation detectors. EFFECT: enhanced functional reliability. 2 cl, 4 dwg
