FIELD: chemical technology, rubber industry. SUBSTANCE: butadiene polymerization is carried out in solvent medium in the presence of trialkylaluminium and mixed titanium halide. The latter is obtained by interaction of titanium tetrachloride with iodine at two-fold addition of titanium tetrachloride. The first portion which is added at the beginning of interaction involves 30-70% mole of total titanium tetrachloride amount. EFFECT: improved method of synthesis. 1 tbl
