FIELD: transportation equipment and accessories. SUBSTANCE: these tanks are intended for railway transportation. According to method, tank body sheets and armour plates are marked-out into lots which are cut out after marking-out. On completion of aforesaid procedure, lots are assembled together into common blank corresponding to dimensions of tank body development. Common blank is then rolled-up into shell, and closing joint is welded up. Upon that, shell is subjected to calibration, and axis of groove is marked-out in armour plate. For higher productivity and better quality of tank body manufacturing process, squeezing-out of groove is effected by stamping procedure. For this purpose, axis of groove is aligned with marks made on die of groove stamping machine and stamping is performed until limit switches of stamping machine are operated. Limit switches are preset to operate at reaching required depth of groove being pressed-out. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 4 dwg
