FIELD: replacement of natural valves of human heart. SUBSTANCE: valve prosthesis has housing 1 with inner surface 2 forming a passage for direct blood flow along axis 3 of housing 1 that accommodates locking element 4 made in the form of two flaps 5. Flaps 5 are linked with housing 1 with the aid of a means for their turning, which represents lug 11 and grooves. Lug 11 is positioned on inner surface 2 of housing 1, it is ring-shaped. The grooves are positioned on the opposite sides of lateral surface 10 of each flap 5. Surface 15 of ring-shaped lug 11, facing ascending blood flow 7, in diametric plane is smoothly concave towards descending blood flow 9 relative to the plane perpendicular to the diametric plane and passing through the extreme points of surface 15 of ring-shaped lug 11, facing ascending blood flow 7. Surface 13 of ring-shaped lug 11 facing descending blood flow 9 in diametric plane is smoothly concave towards ascending blood flow 7 relative to the plane perpendicular to the diametric plane and passing the extreme points of surface 13 of ring-shaped lug 11, facing descending blood flow 9. EFFECT: prevented drop-out of flaps, prevented crawling of heart tissues surrounding the valve over part of the flaps, enhanced reliability and durability of valve prosthesis. 3 cl, 5 dwg
